“Protecting Uganda’s Youth in the Digital Age” A project by Apnom Youth Organisation Uganda
The internet is a powerful space for connection, learning, and opportunity—but it has also become a breeding ground for online sexual exploitation, harassment, grooming, and abuse, particularly targeting teenagers and young people.
The Digital Armor Project by Apnom Youth Organisation Uganda is a nationwide youth-centered initiative designed to empower young people with the tools, knowledge, and resilience to navigate the online world safely and smartly.
The project tackles the growing threats of digital abuse including online predators, pornography solicitors, unsolicited sharing of intimate images, grooming, cyber harassment, and manipulation via private messaging. It also addresses psychological and emotional damage caused by digital exploitation and promotes safe digital identity management among Uganda’s youth.
Through peer education, school-based campaigns, digital literacy workshops, survivor support, and nationwide awareness drives, the Digital Armor Project envisions a Uganda where every young person is protected online—and empowered to protect others.

In Uganda, more young people are accessing the internet than ever before—yet many remain unaware and unprotected from the rising dangers of digital abuse. The lines between the virtual world and real life are increasingly blurred, and the consequences of online exploitation can destroy lives, futures, and families.
The Digital Armor Project is Uganda’s frontline defense—built by youth, for youth—to fight back. Through this initiative, we are empowering a digitally responsible generation, educating communities, supporting survivors, and advocating for policies that hold digital predators accountable.
This is not just about internet safety—it’s about protecting dignity, rights, and the future of Uganda’s youth.
